Oluwalayomi Fadero Fatal Crash Nashville, TN Death, Obituary: Tragic Loss
The Nashville community is in shock after the senseless death of 23-year-old Oluwalayomi Fadero, who was killed in a high-speed crash early Friday morning. The collision occurred on Murfreesboro Pike near Hickory Woods Drive, when a stolen Ford F-250 driven the wrong way at extreme speed slammed into Fadero’s sedan, instantly killing her.
Fadero had been preparing to turn into her neighborhood when the stolen vehicle struck her car on the driver’s side. The violent impact left no opportunity for her survival. At just 23 years old, Fadero had recently graduated from Fisk University and was at the cusp of beginning her adult life, with dreams and aspirations for her future.
Police later identified the driver of the stolen truck as 52-year-old Ray Eugene Padgett, who was on parole at the time. Padgett had stolen the truck from a car lot earlier that morning and was seen driving recklessly on Murfreesboro Pike before the fatal crash. After the collision, he was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, and police arrested him once he was released. He faces multiple charges, including vehicular homicide by recklessness and criminally negligent homicide.
Fadero’s friends and family remember her as a bright and compassionate woman, someone who brought joy to those around her and was excited to start her career. The loss has left a deep void in the lives of those who knew her, as many reflect on the tragic and avoidable nature of her death. Investigators are still working to understand the full sequence of events leading to this horrific crash.
Oluwalayomi Fadero’s life was taken too soon, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her and in the legacy she leaves behind.
