Jennifer Sue Marsaw and Marzai Andrew Dawson Lexington, MN Death, Obituary: Fatal Loss

The Anoka County community is mourning the tragic and untimely deaths of 44-year-old Jennifer Sue Marsaw and her 5-year-old son, Marzai Andrew Dawson, who were fatally killed early Wednesday morning, March 17, 2026, at their residence near the 9300 block of Ryan Place in Lexington, Minnesota.

According to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, officers, deputies, and EMS responded to the home at approximately 12:50 a.m. Jennifer Marsaw was found deceased inside the residence, and her son, Marzai, who had been seriously injured, was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities have taken Jennifer Marsaw’s estranged husband, 55-year-old Irving Van Marsaw of Minneapolis, into custody. He was initially transported to a hospital for medical treatment and has since been released and booked into the Anoka County Jail, pending charges. Court records indicate that Irving Marsaw was not the biological father of Marzai Andrew Dawson.

Jennifer Marsaw and her son were beloved members of the Lexington community, and their sudden and violent deaths have left family, friends, and neighbors grieving.
