Arlene I. Turner Tragic Crash Covington County, MI Death and Obituary: In Loving Memory

The Covington County, Mississippi community is mourning the tragic loss of 67-year-old Arlene I. Turner of San Antonio, Texas, who was killed in a devastating early morning crash on Monday.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, troopers responded just after 5 a.m. to a multi-vehicle crash along U.S. Highway 49 in Covington County. Investigators say a 2016 Volvo tractor-trailer was traveling southbound when it briefly left the roadway and then re-entered. During that maneuver, a second trailer being pulled by the truck became detached and remained in the roadway.

Authorities reported that a 2013 Nissan Altima, also traveling southbound, struck the detached trailer. Moments later, a 2026 Kia Sportage driven by Turner collided with the same trailer.

Due to the severity of the impact, Turner suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Covington County Coroner’s Office.

The sudden and heartbreaking loss has left family, friends, and loved ones grieving as they come to terms with the tragedy.

The crash remains under active investigation as officials work to determine all contributing factors.
