Sadora Lanier Murder-Suicide Atlanta, GA Death and Obituary: Tragic Loss

In the wake of a heartbreaking tragedy, a community now reflects on the lives of a couple whose story ended far too soon. Authorities confirmed that a husband and wife were found deceased in their South Fulton home on March 14 in what investigators have described as a murder‑suicide. The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victims as 49‑year‑old Isadora “Belle” Lanier and her husband, 51‑year‑old Corey Lanier.

Police responded shortly before noon after receiving a call reporting threats of self‑harm and potential danger to another person inside the residence. Despite rapid deployment and the involvement of SWAT officers, both individuals were discovered dead when authorities entered the home. Officials later stated that the husband had contacted family members around midday, telling them he had taken his wife’s life before ending his own.

South Fulton Interim Public Safety Director Cedric Alexander noted that investigators found no record of prior calls to the home and said the couple appeared to have been married for several years. Their three children were not present during the incident, a small mercy amid an otherwise devastating loss.

Isadora, affectionately known as Belle, is remembered as a warm, spirited presence whose kindness touched those around her. Loved ones planned a celebration of her life on March 25 at the First Congregational Church in Atlanta, gathering to honor her memory and the light she brought to family and friends.

As the community absorbs the weight of this tragedy, thoughts turn to the children left behind and to the importance of compassion, connection, and support in moments of crisis. In remembering Belle and Corey, many hope for healing, understanding, and peace for all who knew and loved them.
